According to Kazinform News Agency (source), Kazakhstan significantly increased its oil exports in the first half of 2025, reflecting strong performance in the energy sector.
At a government meeting held on July 15, Minister of Energy Yerlan Akkenzhenov announced that the country produced 49.9 million tons of oil between January and June 2025, marking a 111.6% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Of this, 39.6 million tons were exported, representing an 11.9% year-on-year growth.
Looking ahead, Kazakhstan plans to export 70.5 million tons of oil by the end of the year, with total production expected to reach 96.2 million tons.
This surge comes amid coordinated efforts within the OPEC+ alliance. In early July, eight member countries — including Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, UAE, Kuwait, Algeria, and Oman — agreed to a collective production adjustment of 548,000 barrels per day starting in August 2025. This move aims to stabilize global oil markets and maintain price equilibrium.
Kazakhstan’s performance underscores its growing role in global energy supply and its commitment to international production agreements.
