Peace be upon you, dear friends.

I participated in the working session of the National Foundation under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Astana.

At the meeting, Chief Advisor Erlan Karin presented a comprehensive report on the importance of the presidential reforms and their tangible results. It was noted that in recent years the country’s economy has shown steady growth; new businesses have been established; stable employment opportunities have been created; social facilities have been developed in a systematic manner; and transport infrastructure has been expanded—these being the real fruits of the reforms implemented.

In particular, it was emphasized that the parliamentary reform launched by the President under the formula “Strong President – Effective Parliament – Accountable Government” constitutes the legal continuation of the 2022 constitutional amendments and provides a solid foundation for a new political model. In the coming period, amendments to at least 40 articles of the Constitution are planned.

It was also noted that, in order to implement the initiatives that emerged at the fourth session of the National Constitutional Platform, a special plan consisting of 53 items has been adopted, and the preparation of 10 draft laws is planned. The concept of domestic policy, regional development, combating drug addiction, cultural and humanitarian projects (“100 Books,” “Noble Heritage”), and the inclusion of the “Khandar Dynasty” on the UNESCO list are among the tangible outcomes of this work.

Within the framework of the sessions, issues related to civil society, socio-economic and cultural development, as well as education and science, were discussed, and members of the National Foundation presented their proposals. All proposals will be reviewed in sessions to be held with the relevant state authorities.

The National Constitutional Platform is an important forum for open dialogue between society and the state, shared responsibility, and joint development.
