Since 2019, Tashkent State University of Law (TSUL) has been systematically advancing its internationalization strategy by actively participating in globally recognized university rankings. Within a short timeframe, the university has undertaken extensive institutional reforms aimed at achieving higher positions and strengthening its presence in the international academic landscape.

The primary objectives of TSUL include enhancing the quality of legal education, increasing its attractiveness to international students, elevating the university’s global reputation, and achieving sustainable recognition among leading international universities. In parallel, the university seeks to reinforce its status as a prominent center for legal education and research at both regional and international levels.

A significant achievement in this direction was recorded in April 2021, when TSUL was ranked 401st worldwide in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings. This result positioned the university as the highest-ranked higher education institution in Uzbekistan within this category and represented an important milestone in its integration into the global academic community.

At present, TSUL continues to participate actively in major international ranking systems, including the QS World University Rankings, Times Higher Education (THE), UniRank, and Webometrics. These efforts demonstrate the university’s commitment to transparency, quality assurance, and alignment with internationally recognized academic standards.

The university’s expanding international profile is strongly supported by the research output of its academic staff. More than 100 professors and lecturers of Tashkent State University of Law have published research articles in journals indexed in the Scopus database. Among recent notable contributions are publications by faculty members in Q1–Q3 Scopus-indexed journals.

In particular, Professor (Acting) Durdona Madaminova and Associate Professor (Acting) Amirbek Kenjayev from the Department of Public Administration published the article entitled “Contemporary Issues of Transboundary Water Utilization in Central Asia: Political and Legal Analysis” in the Scopus-indexed Q1 journal Legality: Jurnal Ilmiah Hukum.

Additionally, Associate Professor (Acting) Nozima O‘ktamova of the Department of Public Administration authored the article “Effects of Oil Shocks on the Trade Balance of Azerbaijan: Evidence from the TVP-VAR Model”, which was published in the Scopus-indexed Q2 journal International Journal of Energy Economics and Policy.

Furthermore, Professor Gulnora Gulyamova and Associate Professor Durdona Rasulmuxamedova from the Department of Uzbek Language and Literature published the article “Integration of Artificial Intelligence into Educational Platforms for Effective Language Learning” in the Scopus-indexed Q3 journal Jurnal Ilmiah Ilmu Terapan Universitas Jambi.

In the medium term, TSUL aims to further strengthen its global standing and is expected to secure a position among the TOP-1000 universities worldwide in both the QS and THE rankings. This strategic objective reflects the university’s consistent progress and its long-term vision for academic excellence and international competitiveness.

Through sustained development initiatives, international cooperation, and a strong focus on quality and innovation, Tashkent State University of Law continues to expand its academic influence and international recognition.

Within the framework of the “Constitution Month” initiative, the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan regularly organizes “Open Doors Day” events aimed at strengthening constitutional awareness and public engagement. These events provide citizens, students, and representatives of academic institutions with a valuable opportunity to familiarize themselves with the activities of the Senate, its constitutional role, and legislative processes.

The regular organization of “Open Doors Day” has proven to be highly beneficial, as it promotes transparency, enhances legal culture, and encourages active civic participation. By enabling direct interaction between the public and legislative bodies, the initiative contributes to increasing trust in state institutions and supports the practical implementation of constitutional principles.

Moreover, such events play an important educational role, particularly for university students and young professionals, by offering firsthand exposure to law-making processes and public governance. As part of the broader “Constitution Month,” the Senate’s “Open Doors Day” serves as an effective platform for legal education, institutional openness, and sustained dialogue between the state and society.

Tashkent State University of Law has successfully strengthened its international relations through active collaboration with foreign universities and academic experts. These partnerships facilitate knowledge exchange, joint research, and academic mobility, contributing to the university’s global integration. Enhanced international cooperation supports high-quality education, research excellence, and the development of a globally competitive academic environment.

Tashkent State University of Law places strong emphasis on expanding international academic cooperation with foreign higher education institutions. In this regard, the university has established active and sustainable collaboration with a number of international partners, including the University of Gdansk (Poland).

This cooperation involves close engagement with foreign professors and academic experts, contributing to the exchange of knowledge, best teaching practices, and research experience. Such partnerships support the internationalization of the educational process, enhance the quality of academic programs, and provide opportunities for joint research,

guest lectures, and academic mobility.

Collaboration with reputable European universities, including the University of Gdansk, reflects TSUL’s commitment to aligning its education and research activities with international standards and further strengthening its position within the global academic community.

Tashkent State University of Law has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Law School of Sung Kyun Kwan University (South Korea). This agreement establishes a framework for joint academic activities, including student and faculty exchanges, collaborative research projects, and knowledge sharing. The partnership reinforces TSUL’s commitment to internationalization, enhances legal education quality, and strengthens global academic collaboration.

Tashkent State University of Law actively engages with public and international organizations to address pressing legal and societal issues. Under the leadership of the university’s Rector, the university frequently organizes open roundtable discussions and forums, bringing together experts, practitioners, and students to analyze current challenges and propose practical solutions. These initiatives not only foster the development of legal education but also enhance the university’s role as a platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and the promotion of a legally informed society.
